In the Test match played at Gabba, West Indies created history by registering a thrilling win by 8 runs against the Australian team (AUS vs WI). After this victory, Kangaroo team captain Pat Cummins exchanged his jersey with West Indies fast bowler Shamar Joseph.
Cummins shared the picture of this incident on social media and praised him for his tremendous performance in the match. Young fast bowler Joseph was badly injured during the second innings of West Indies. Despite this, he decided to bowl in Australia’s second innings. The right-arm bowler bowled brilliantly and took seven wickets for 68 runs and became the hero of this victory for West Indies.
After the match, Kangaroo team captain Pat Cummins exchanged his jersey with Joseph and praised him and wrote in the caption,
“Shamar Joseph’s debut series. Played very well and has already become a superstar.“
It is noteworthy that 24-year-old Joseph made Cameron Green, Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, Alex Carey, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood his victims in Australia’s second innings. To win this match, West Indies had given Australia 216 runs in the second innings, in response to which the host team was limited to 207 runs. Steve Smith (91*) scored the most runs for Australia in the second innings. He kept the hosts’ hopes of victory alive till the end, but no other batsman could support him.

During the post-match presentation, Cummins admitted that Joseph bowled brilliantly against Australia and Australia should have achieved the target of 216 runs. Right-arm fast bowler Cummins said,
He (Shamar Joseph) was in great form and unfortunately we were not that good. We had full hopes of winning the match today. We had performed brilliantly on the third day and the target of 200 runs could have been easily achieved.
