Recover Instagram Hacked Account: Recently my friend’s Instagram got hacked by a Hacker. What was worse, her email id as well as profile username was also changed.

Let’s start first with HOW her account got hacked?
There is no way to sugarcoat it. Simply put: she made a mistake and fell for a trap by the hackers. Here’s what happened: The hacker sent a email as a live support from Instagram Meta Verification to her. The hacker even had a “Meta” logo as his profile image. The message was to offer her an Instagram blue tick.
Long story short, she provided some of her personal Instagram account details which she shouldn’t have and she also provided 2 factor authentication. About half an hour later, she got an email from Instagram that her email id has been changed.
In some time she got to know that even her phone number as well as Instagram username has also been changed. Now she was without any access to login into Instagram.

At the login page, input your username if the hacker didn’t change it.
If the hacker changed your username, don’t freak out, leave that space blank. Most probably the hacker changed your password, so no point putting in your password.
Now click on “Forgotten Password”
If you left your username area blank in the previous page, you will probably be brought to a page asking you to input your username or email address. Instagram will then try to locate your account, even if the hacker just changed your username. There is also an option to search for your account by your mobile number.
Now, what if you got into a situation like her, whereby the hacker removed her email address, phone number, and changed both her username and password?
